President Trump took to Twitter on Friday to mock Time magazine and reject their offer to be “Person of the Year.”
Here’s what the president Tweeted:
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year,” he posted, “but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot.”
“I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!” he added.
How did Time magazine respond?
There was no official response from Time magazine, but the mocking tweet was taken up by Richard Stengel, a former Time editor.
“Hate to tell you but that PROBABLY means you’re NOT Person of the Year,” Stengel tweeted.
Hate to tell you but that PROBABLY means you’re NOT Person of the Year. They just wanted a photo shoot. But I’m sure you still have that fake TIME cover somewhere in storage. https://t.co/HkW1XkKxXK

“They just wanted a photo shoot,” he added. “But I’m sure you still have that fake TIME cover somewhere in storage.”
He referred to a report that Trump had doctored up a fake Time cover with his photo in it, and had it displayed at many of his golf resorts.
This was not Trump’s first tweet about the Time magazine tradition.
So biased: @TIME made ‘The Protester’ as the person of the year. @TIME celebrates OWS but vilified the Tea Party last year.

“@PatrickMendezNV: They’re going to make you their @TIME person of the year in attempt to silence you. They are not smart enough to do that

I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite They picked person who is ruining Germany

Thank you @oreillyfactor for your wonderful editorial as to why I should have been @TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year. You should run Time!

Time magazine did make Trump their Person of the Year in 2016. The award for 2017 will be announced December 6.
