Was Obama’s 2nd Term Purchased With American Lives?

Share this:

Whether we want to remember it or not (and most of us really, really don’t) the Obama administration was always reminding us about how wonderfully transparent they were.

Even a year later glib liberal talking heads want to remark (in their glib liberal way) on how the Obama administration was so scandal free for eight years (who said liberals aren’t funny?).

So it seems somewhat surprising to find out that the oh so transparent (and honorable) Obama administration was hiding information from the American people, information that was uncovered during the often bragged about raid (and subsequent death of) Osama bin Laden.

Remember when we were told that Al Qaeda was on the run so often that we half expected to see newsreels reminiscent of WWII showing demoralized Al Qaeda fighters slinking off to where ever it is demoralized Al Qaeda fighters might slink off to?

Well according to an article appearing in the Conservative Tribune all of that bluster was smoke and mirrors and we (American voters) were sold a very costly bill of goods. The article states that

“A key piece of Obama’s re-election was the elimination of bin Laden and the claim that the administration had Al Qaeda on the run. Afghanistan was won, the incumbent president boasted, and Islamic terrorism was waning. The path forward was to lift sanctions on Iran and move forward.”

The article continues

“There was one big problem: The administration knew it wasn’t true, but repeated it anyway.”

It seems that the Obama administration was well aware that the rosy picture of accomplishment they were painting to hoodwink the American people into once again voting for President Selfie was so much hokum (which was not our first choice of highly colorful descriptive words)

But why would the oh-so-transparent Obama administration mislead the American people? Sadly it seems that it was about exactly what you would might expect. The Conservative Tribune article spells it out

In a detailed exposé in The Weekly Standard, journalist and author Stephen F. Hayes showed that Obama buried a staggering number of documents from Osama bin Laden’s compound, and essentially lied to the American people about the real status of Al Qaeda in order to win votes.

Apparently the ultra-transparent administration wanted to stick around for another four years so that they could be even more transparent! As if such a thing was even possible!

But what about all those documents captured during the raid? Didn’t they get turned over to the American people so that we could see how badly Al Qaeda was decimated? Ummmmm not so much,

The Obama admin, in their never ending effort to be the most transparent admin ever (heavy sarcasm intended) sorted through around 470,000 documents and selected 17 to reveal to journalists, apparently these were the only documents in the huge stash that gave the slightest credence to the narrative the administration was trying to sell to the public.

But what about the rest of the documents? Why hide them?

The Tribune story reveals what is perhaps the most damning part of the story. In speaking about the  mountain of papers that team Obama held in secret (waiting for the election to be over) that have since been released by the Trump administration, they explain that

“……,the newly-released documents also showed that the terrorist group was forming close alliances with Iran — the same nation that Barack Obama wanted to extend an olive branch to during his second term”

Well “olive branch” and planes crammed full of cash that is.

Yes the infamous “Iran deal” that former Obama staffers speak of as if it were the equivalent of parting the Red Sea. Although the images of “planes stuffed with taxpayer cash” is often disputed by liberals another part of the “deal” that is rarely spoken of is the release of Iranian’s held prisoner by the United States.

Obama attempted to pass these prisoners off as non-terrorists, and almost made them sound as if they should have received Freedom Medals rather than prison sentences, but Politico busted that narrative saying that

…”Obama portrayed the seven men he freed as “civilians.” The senior official described them as businessmen convicted of or awaiting trial for mere “sanctions-related offenses, violations of the trade embargo”

BUT Politico goes on to explain

“In reality, some of them were accused by Obama’s own Justice Department of posing threats to national security. Three allegedly were part of an illegal procurement network supplying Iran with U.S.-made microelectronics with applications in surface-to-air and cruise missiles…. another was serving an eight-year sentence for conspiring to supply Iran with satellite technology and hardware. As part of the deal, U.S. officials even dropped their demand for $10 million that a jury said the aerospace engineer illegally received from Tehran”

It was also reported by Politico that

“….in a series of unpublicized court filings, the Justice Department dropped charges and international arrest warrants against 14 other men, all of them fugitives”

That seems even worst than loading up planes with cash in the middle of the night, doesn’t it?

But as bad as all that seems (and granted it seems pretty damned bad) at least the Obama administration didn’t take risks with American lives just to further President Obama’s ambitions for another term, or did they?

Obama didn’t just create a phony narrative about the strength of America’s enemies, his administration did everything possible to reinforce it. This included sending thousands of copies of Obama’s books “Dreams of My Father” to US Embassies around the world (The US State Department (remember them?) actually spent $70,000.00 of taxpayer’s money purchasing them). Perhaps this was intended to provide something with which our overseas embassies could fortify their buildings with – normal funding for security improvements being so hard to come by apparently.

But not reinforcing the embassies had nothing to do with money (God knows spending money wasn’t something that the Obama administration shied away from) rather it was about optics. Spending money on defense of our embassies would infer that some of America’s enemies didn’t think Obama was the greatest President that ever lived, despite how low he bowed. As a result – books – in,, security – out.

When the Obama narrative did blow up at our Embassy in Benghazi, the administration spent far more time, effort and manpower on protecting their precious narrative than they ever even considered spending to protect and perhaps save American lives.

Then came the talk show lies with Susan Rice pushing what is now known to be the phony video narrative and the tarmac lies where the oh so honest Obama and his evil henchman (or woman) Hillary disgustingly lied to grieving parents in front of the caskets containing their dead sons.

The protection of the phony narrative still continues to this day. Mention Benghazi or the Iran Deal and your labeled as a Conspiracy Theorist, a Racist and quite possibly a White Supremacist.

Just this week Liberals are beginning to bravely admit that Bill Clinton should have been removed from office and this is almost 20 years after the fact, and to this day Clinton water carriers will rush to his defense.

This means that perhaps by the year 2037 liberals might fess up to the dirty deals that the Obama administration made to stay in power, but don’t hold your breath waiting to find out.
