The NRA seems to be sacrificing bump stocks in light of the recent tragedy in Las Vegas. These devices convert semi-automatic weapons into automatic weapons. Machine guns and other fully automatic weapons are generally not available for sale, although weapons made before the 1986 are grandfathered in. The illegal conversion of semi-automatic weapons to fully automatic weapons by criminals is occasionally a problem for law enforcement, and banning sale of bump stocks certainly will not stop criminals from doing this.
But the real question is the first step in chipping away at the second amendment? Many anti-second amendment liberals believe it was only meant to cover old fashioned muskets owned by members of a militia and MAYBE hunting rifles.
Do you think banning bump stocks will lead to even more gun control bans?
