Portions of a bombshell interview with a White House insider suggest Vice President Mike Pence is reeling from recent developments, and preparing to take drastic action.
In his now infamous interview with The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci drew attention to Pence’s recent staffing decisions.
Just a month ago, Pence appointed Nick Ayers as his new chief of staff.
Scaramucci asked Lizza regarding that appointment:
“Why do you think Nick’s there, bro? Are you stupid? Why is Nick there? Nick’s there to protect the Vice-President because the Vice-President can’t believe what the f— is going on.“
Lizza tried to clarify the remark with Scaramucci after he had been fired, but Scaramucci refused to answer any more questions.
Meanwhile, Ayers appointment and the Scaramucci interview have fueled rumors that Trump may not even seek a second term, and that Pence is preparing himself to run for president.
Ayers is known for working on many political campaigns.
