Sen. John McCain is no supporter of President Trump. Still, most expected the long-serving senator to help repeal Obamacare, and were shocked when he instead saved that failed legislation.
After all, McCain himself has campaigned on a platform of repealing Obamacare, at least when it served his own political interests to do so.
But there may be more behind McCain’s sudden flip-flop than simple spiteful betrayal against the Trump White House.

The Washington Post ran an interesting article on Friday detailing a phone call that may have likely influenced the controversial course of action Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) took during the “skinny repeal” vote of ObamaCare.
The call occurred between former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. McCain just before the senator dashed his own party’s attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act with a devastating “no” vote.
Recalling the fact that his son Beau died in 2015 of the same kind of brain cancer McCain has been diagnosed with, Biden’s call tugged on both of their heartstrings, according to the Post.
McCain was also reportedly influenced to oppose the bill by good friend former Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.), according to the report.
And so, because of John McCain’s duplicitousness, millions of Americans and thousands of businesses are still stuck struggling under a health care system that serves no one but the Democratic elite.
