This ain’t the Middle Ages, Pope Francis. The Vatican no longer has the power to go around insulting and oppressing whomever it wishes without serious consequences.
But that’s precisely what Francis was up to in an interview with Italian media as the leaders of the world met at the G-20 Summit in Germany.
Francis didn’t even wait for the media to come to him.
According to a reporter at La Repubblica, the pope called him with an urgent message.
In his statement, Francis lumped the United States together with Russia, China, North Korea and Bashar al Assad’s Syria as nations that have “a distorted vision of the world.”
Now, it’s no secret that Pope Francis doesn’t much like President Trump, and is likely miffed at the American people for electing him.
But comparing us to Dictator Dumpling in North Korea, or to the murderous masters of Damascus?!
That’s crossing the line.
Which is what ultra-liberals like Francis do all the time.
Keep to their agenda, and liberals are all about tolerance. Take an opposing position (or vote for the wrong guy) and suddenly you’re “distorted.”
Well, Pope Francis, as previously noted, most of us Christians no longer give two figs about what the Vatican thinks, so take your comparison and SHOVE IT.
