Authorities are warning people to take extra precautions when shopping at their local Walmart after identifying a horrifying new “trick” being played on customers.
It seems some people are too bored for their own good, and are amusing themselves by physically harming others.
And we are talking serious injuries that require going to the hospital.
Police in at least one town in Missouri say they have found razor blades hidden in the handles of shopping carts at a local Walmart.
At least two people have been injured by the stunt.
One woman said she was less concerned by her own injuries than by the possibility that a child might be placed in the shopping cart seat and then be seriously wounded by the razor blades.
Walmart has vowed to work with authorities to apprehend those responsible.
A statement from the company read:
“It’s disturbing that someone might try to injure a customer or associate, and we’re grateful no one was seriously hurt. We’ve checked all shopping carts and are currently conducting regular checks. We’ve also reviewed surveillance footage and will continue working with police to find the person responsible.”
