Regardless of which end of the political spectrum you find yourself on, whether you are a stalwart Conservative or a stark raving mad liberal – or anywhere in between, try to recall how you felt when you first heard that the Internal Revenue Service was being used as a political weapon. It probably wasn’t a warm fuzzy feeling because anyone with even a minuscule amount of common sense would have the wherewithal to ask themselves “What if that was me they were after?” Again, it was probably not a good feeling.
For those of you who may not have heard of the weaponizing of the IRS (after all it was the Obama administration so the coverage was either scanty or non-existent) US News did a story on it https://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/peter-roff/2013/08/23/the-obama-administration-has-been-abusing-the-irs-for-years The article explains what happened and then goes on to say
“Raiding for political purposes and sharing information contained in individual or corporate tax returns is a frightening abuse of power; perhaps the most serious that can occur outside the government’s war making ability. The Obama administration now stands accused of doing just that”
Well said and totally accurate. There is nothing more heinous than an entity that the public might never love, but believes or even INSISTS is least fair and impartial having an agenda that is biased and rather than being in the best interests of its users, it in face operating in their worst interests.
CNN, described as many things – most of them less than complimentary. The “Clinton News Network”, the “Criminal News Network” or the “Certainly Not News Network” one too many “N’s” perhaps but still very applicable. Again very many names have been used to described this organization, but “Trusted News Source” is seldom used nor should it be.
This network has shown itself to be the worst thing the founders of journalism could have ever imagined, a network dedicated to spreading a false narrative in order to cause harm to an individual or individuals.
