Otto Frederick Warmbier, the American university student tortured by North Korea for the past year, has died just days after President Trump secured his release.
Warmbier was already in a coma when the North Koreans sent him back to us. He had been subjected to over 17 months of horrifying psychological and physical abuse.
And Barack Obama did nothing about it.
Trump, by contrast, acted swiftly. But it was already too late for Warmbier.
A heartbreaking statement released by his family on Monday read:
“The awful torturous mistreatment of our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today. Otto has completed his journey home.”
Trump was PISSED.
After offering his condolences to Otto’s family, the president took aim at North Korea:
“Otto’s fate deepens my Administration’s determination to prevent such tragedies from befalling innocent people at the hands of regimes that do not respect the rule of law or basic human decency. The United States once again condemns the brutality of the North Korean regime as we mourn its latest victim.”
