Rapper Snoop Dog has released a new video that literally took aim at President Donald Trump — and as you might guess, it’s about as offensive as it gets.
One scene in the video showed the rap singer shooting a toy gun at the head of someone dressed as the president. After he pulls the trigger, a “BANG!” sign popped out of the gun.
Trump responded to Snoop Dog’s video on Twitter, asking what the response would have been if the rapper had performed a mock presidential assassination on former President Barack Obama.
“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama?” Trump wrote. “Jail time!”

Trump’s reply was spot on. If a rapper had made a video of someone shooting Obama in the head, the outcry would have been deafening.
Of course, another take on Trump’s “jail time” comment could mean that the president thinks Snoop Dog should be jailed for the violent nature of the video.
Snoop Dogg might hate to admit it, but he is part of the problem when it comes to violence — especially in the black community. After all, he makes shooting people look cool in these kinds of videos, yet rarely addresses how violence ruins lives.
On Tuesday, Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, told TMZ that Snoop should apologize to the president.
“If you have a protest, that’s fine,” Cohen said, adding that the office of the presidency must be respected. “Just because you want to hide behind the guise of artistic capabilities or artistic freedom of speech doesn’t make it right, and Snoop knows that.”
Of course, Snoop Dogg knows it.
It should be pointed that that two years ago, the rapper took part in an anti-gun campaign, proving that he is about as hypocritical as they come.
It’s obvious the rapper is using violence aimed at Trump for attention, but it might the wrong kind of attention. The Wrap reported that the Secret Service was “aware of” the video.
