As you all well remember, last year, NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick made quite a buzz when he showed major disrespect for the national anthem on live TV and refused to stand during his football games.
As he explained this, he thought of America as a ‘racist’ country.
However, there is not a deed that goes unpunished, so Kaepernick faced hard-on consequences.
According to USA Today, Kaepernick has just been fired by the San Francisco 49ers, and won’t be returning next season.
The first time Kaepernick came onto the football scene, he seemed promising and many expected great things of him.
Still, due to his weak behavior, no respect for this country brought him the catastrophe he much deserved.
His contract with the 49ers was due to 2020, but the team decided not to consider him for the roster because of all the drama he brought.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media last summer. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
His protests did not seem to go over well with the 49ers.
“The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pre-game ceremony,” the team said in a statement. “It is an opportunity to honor our country and reflect on the great liberties we are afforded as its citizens. In respecting such American principles as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize the right of an individual to choose and participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem.”
Ultimately we can all agree that there is justice for those who wrong America and try to undermine it.
He is well gone, so the celebration can start.
Are you relieved that Kaepernick is no longer on the team? Do you support this?
