Pity poor liberal progressives, these poor fools souls are so defeated that they can’t even come up with an original slogan. Instead they are forced to bastardize great conservative slogans (i.e.,”Make America Great Again”) and bend them to their cause.
One of the other really lousy things about being a Liberal (and God knows there are many) is that winning converts to your cause, or at the very least retaining those members of your cause that you have already fooled won is dependent in great part upon either collective amnesia or mass hysteria and sadly sometimes both are required.
How else do you explain the fact that those Democratic office holders who are left in office (a number that is thankfully much smaller than at this same time last year) are trying to resurrect the woefully inadequate (but somehow fittingly named) signature legislation of Barack Obama – the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare.
Haven’t we seen this dog and pony show before? Didn’t it suck then? The only lies not used by President Obama (who full disclosure was lacking even a passing familiarity with the truth) too get this boondoggle through Congress were “Of course I’ll respect you in the morning” and “The checks in the mail”. Even Real Clear Politics a site which covers all sides of the political spectrum is damning of Obamacare as evidenced by the article “Obamacare Implosion Exposes Web of Lies and Deceit” http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2016/11/01/obamacare_implosion_exposes_web_of_lies_and_deceit_132214.html by Stephen Moore who writes “By now, everyone knows that Obamacare is the public-policy flop of this generation. With the latest news of premiums increasing 22 percent, insurance companies dropping out, rising taxes and less completion, this is truly the Hindenburg of health plans.” This seems a pretty apt description, but it is not just the massive FAIL of Obamacare that makes it such a disaster as a “Signature legislation” as Moore points out later in the same article “President Obama’s team and the liberal echo chamber lied about Obamacare from the start and covered up the financial time bomb that would soon detonate in Americans’ laps”
Moore has always been a harsh critic of Obamacare writing such damning comments as “If there were a contest for the biggest lie in Washington over the past 30 years, it would be hard to compete with President Obama’s boast that he would put 30 million more Americans on Obamacare subsidies and Medicaid, and this would reduce the deficit. … This begs the question: Is there a single promise that Obama made about Obamacare that has proven truthful?” Comments like this have made Moore less than popular with the left, in fact they have called him (as liberals love too do) everything but a child of God. However despite the many names progressives have tried to paint him with the man has been proven right time and time again.
And yet like Wiley Coyote trying yet another Acme products invention to finally capture and devour that pesky Roadrunner, Progressives like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi drag out this sorry, pathetic, ill advised plan and once again attempt to guilt trip America into buying it.
Do Liberals really believe that CNN is the only news outlet that America watches, or that we are all collectively glued to the pages of the New York Times or Washington Post? Do they really believe that America will forget articles such as the one published by The Hill http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/223578-obamacare-architect-lack-of-transparency-helped-law-pass which stated that one of the very men who designed the Affordable Care Act Johnathan Gruber while a member of a panel discussing the implementation of the act remarked that “”Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Gruber said. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.”
There is an old adage that says “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”, for America the “stupid” thing would be giving the likes of Schumer, Pelosi and Gruber the opportunity to fool us yet again.
