President Barack Obama is doing his best to damage our country during what time he has left as president.
Over the past few days, he shut down the Department of Homeland Security’s Operation Phalanx, an aerial surveillance program that supplied the National Guard with resources to monitor illegal border crossings as well as drug smuggling operations, according to Watchdog.org.
The program, which used advanced UH-72 helicopters, was launched in 2010 and was fully funded until 2017, but Obama began scaling back the program in January 2016.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar wrote DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson a letter and explained that “any decrease in aerial observation is not only imprudent, but contradicts the very mission of border security enforcement,” Breitbart reported.

Abbott also voiced his opinion about the move on Twitter, where he claimed Obama was doing everything he could to open the border.
It was not immediately known if the department responded to the letter.
U.S. Border Patrol reports showed that apprehensions in the Rio Grande Valley rose 27 percent in fiscal 2016 compared to fiscal 2015.
From March 2012 to December 2015, the operation seized almost 13,000 pounds of narcotics, resulting in almost 11,000 apprehensions, according to the U.K. Daily Express.
Sadly, this kind of move isn’t surprising. In fact, just about everyone was expecting Obama to do whatever he could to put this country at risk before he left office, and this move mirrors other actions the president has made regarding the border.
What’s even more frightening is what else Obama might have in mind to do before he leaves the White House. We can find comfort, however, in the fact that he has less than two months left to put this country at risk. Given President-elect Donald Trump’s stance on the border crisis, the program could be back in operation on his first day as president.
