The SICK Way Obama ‘Celebrated’ Hurricane Katrina Anniversary

Share this:

Eleven years ago, Hurricane Katrina claimed the lives of 1,800 people, making it the worst natural disaster in American history. So, needless to say, the Obama administration commemorated it by … ignoring it and pushing their agenda.

According to Breitbart, the administration used the day to announced it had taken in its 10,000th refugee ahead of schedule.

“Today, I am pleased to announce that we will meet this goal more than a month ahead of schedule,” National Security Adviser Susan Rice said in a statement. “Our 10,000th Syrian refugee will arrive this afternoon.”

“On behalf of the President and his Administration, I extend the warmest of welcomes to each and every one of our Syrian arrivals, as well as the many other refugees resettled this year from all over the world,” Rice’s statement continued.

“We will admit at least 85,000 refugees in total this year, including vulnerable individuals and families from Burma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, El Salvador, Iraq, Somalia, Ukraine, and many other countries.”

Well, surely there was something on Twitter about Hurricane Katrina, right? Well, not so much, although Barack Obama did say that the men and women of NASA should go for some shaved ice. No, seriously:

Congrats to NASA and the scientists taking us a step closer to Mars. Now enjoy Hawaii and get a shave ice!

This is kind of like how the entire family forgot Molly Ringwold’s birthday in “Sixteen Candles.” Except, instead of Molly Ringwold, it’s the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana, both of which were devastated. And instead of a rather antiquated Asian stereotype to get angry about, it’s the deaths of 1,800 people.

This, of course, isn’t the first time that Obama has ignored Louisiana. He also refused to visit the flood-ravaged state until his vacation was over.

Where’s the anger? Where’s Kanye West going on TV and saying that Barack Obama doesn’t care about black people?

That’s right: when it comes to President Obama, the outrage simply isn’t there, even though he pays even less attention. Thanks, mainstream media.
