It looks like Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has found herself in trouble again, but this time she has reason to be scared.
The FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office have begun working together on a new probe of the Clinton Foundation, and the federal prosecutor overseeing the probe has a long history of destroying corrupt politicians.
Preet Bharara, dubbed “The Showman” by The New Yorker and called “the man who terrifies Wall Street,” has won convictions against leaders in both the House and state legislatures.
According to The Daily Caller, the FBI asked Bharara to oversee this particular case because of his reputation for prosecutorial aggressiveness. Bharara has a long history of taking down both politicians and ordinary criminals.
Recently, he announced charges against 120 street gang members in the Bronx, which was called the largest gang takedown in New York history.
Bharara also uncovered the corruption of New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Silver had been “funneling taxpayer money through his law firm,” and Bharara’s investigation resulted in his in 2015.
Likewise, the famous prosecutor also indicted New York Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos for corruption after Skelos allegedly used his political power to force contractors to hire his reportedly lazy son.
Now, Bharara will look into the Clinton Foundation. For years, the Clintons have been accused of financial and political corruption. Even the Clinton News Network admitted that the foundation would be probed after the FBI received word from a bank of suspicious activity from a foreigner who had donated to the foundation.
The FBI now thinks the Clinton Foundation could have had a conflict of interest in that case and potentially others. And so they’ve enlisted the help of one of the top prosecutors in the U.S. to help them expose the Clintons and their foundation.
