California University Votes To REMOVE American Flags From Meetings Because People Were ‘Triggered’

Hypersensitive snowflakes in the University of California-Davis’ student senate reportedly voted last Thursday in favor of a bill to rescind a bylaw requiring the American flag to be displayed at meetings, citing the flag’s potential for triggering people.

“The flag to a lot of people represents capitalism, colonialism and the genocide of indigenous people, and this is why we don’t want the flag in meetings,” one triggered student senator, Becca Payne, kvetched to local station KOVR.

“We don’t have to have this show and demonstration of patriotism everywhere in our society,” added student senator Itmar Waksman, a recently naturalized citizen from Israel whose poor attitude exemplified why some conservatives believe America’s immigration system needs to be reformed.

Dubbed ASUCD Senate Bill #76, the resolution approved by Payne, Waksman and other snowflakes specifically called for not making the flag’s display compulsory, on the basis that “patriotism is different for every individual,” whatever that means.

While it’s true that different people might celebrate their patriotism in various ways, there’s no denying the meaning inherent in the American flag: freedom, liberty and human rights. But apparently the mushy-soft snowflakes at UC-Davis found such notions to be too triggering. Thankfully, these triggered buttercups were not representative of everyone at the school.

“Restricting the flag to be displayed at the mercy of the president pro-tempore is a slap in the face to our military members, and their sacrifice, even to the death, for our freedoms,” Deborah Porter, political director of the UC-Davis College Republicans, remarked in a statement to Campus Reform.

“I hold our military members in high respect, and thus vehemently oppose Senate Bill 76,” she added.

So. hopefully, do other students at the school, though whether or not they possess enough courage to stand up to these anti-flag bullies remains to be seen.

As for immigrant-turned-flag-hating-citizen Itmar Waksman, frequent Fox News contributor Todd Starnes noted on his blog that while “we are honored to welcome people from other nations — those willing to come here legally — those yearning to breathe free … it’s incredibly impolite to disrespect the nation that gave you refuge.”

Agreed.
