During her final one-on-one interview as first lady, Michelle Obama tried to slam Donald Trump by whining to Oprah Winfrey that Americans have “lost hope” since he won the election. Now, this move has come back to bite her in a big way.
“We feel the difference now. See, now, we are feeling what not having hope feels like,” Michelle said, according to CNN. “Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept and Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought it was just a nice slogan to get votes.”
“He and I and so many believe that — what else do you have if you don’t have hope,” the first lady added. “What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?”
In making this statement, Michelle was conveniently ignoring the millions of people who actually voted for Trump, and now have hope for the first time in eight years. Truthfeed reported that writer and chief political correspondent Deneen Borelli released a video response to this in which she slammed Michelle for the arrogance she displayed in this interview, shoving her “hopeless” comment right back in her face!
