Under President Barack Obama, America’s veterans have suffered like never before. Obama’s Department of Veterans Affairs has been embroiled in a never-ending scandal that costs some of America’s bravest fighters their lives on a daily basis.
Instead of spending money to house homeless veterans or fix wait times at VA clinics, Obama has preferred to waste money on art projects and housing illegal immigrants.
A Fort Bliss complex will soon be home to thousands of illegal immigrant children in need of a temporary place to stay while the government decides where to put them (because sending them back apparently isn’t an option), the El Paso Times reported.
The complex has 1,800 beds, though officials claimed they didn’t know how many children will actually be staying at the center. Officials also claimed that these children will have no impact on military personal at Ft. Bliss.
“This effort has no impact on the ability of the Department of Defense to conduct its primary missions nor on military readiness,” U.S. Department of Health and Human Services spokesman Toby Merit wrote in an email.
“The impact of these shelters on the local community is minimal. Children spend 35 days on average at the shelters and do not integrate into the local community while in HHS custody. They remain under staff supervision at all times,” he said.
Instead of using this facility to house veterans who could use the help, the Obama administration has chosen to put illegal children ahead of Americans who sacrificed to help this country.
At some point we need to start putting our own citizens before those who break the law to come here. We have an obligation to help those who served to protect us.
These men and women were willing to risk their lives for the cause. The very least we can do is give them a bed for a few weeks while they get back on their feet.
